While I generally disagree with Trump/what Trump is doing, I think Sanders makes a good point here. There is no reason the U.S. federal government is the only vehicle to alternative energy. This can happen at the state level, community level or whatever. Just do it.

I have done one grid-tie autoproducer system in Guatemala and will be doing a second one soon. Much like how there have been no new nuclear power plants built in the U.S. in maybe 40 years, coal, petroleum and such can just fade away as well.
